Launch gig

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

We’re now booked in to launch Between your lines on 25 June at the Hopetoun Hotel! We’re very excited about the launch, not least of which because it’s our first headline show at the Hoey.

If you’re on Facebook, you can RSVP for the event there. Or you can just turn up and join in the fun ;)

We’ll have copies of the EP (which has just gone to pressing) and some of our new t-shirts for sale, plus probably a couple to giveaway as well.

Gig @ The Bald Faced Stag – this friday

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Bandwagon logo

We’ve just got the final details for our show on Friday night – we’re playing with Broke Down Engines – a band we’ve heard good things about, so it should be a great night.

The show is our last for the year – something of a Fuzu Christmas party. Bandwagon kicks off at around 10pm – we’re on shortly after – so if you’ve got another Christmas party on it’s perfect timing for you to come down later in the evening to keep the party going! (Easy to get to by public transport too if that helps…)

We’re on at 10.30pm – so hopefully we’ll see you there – but if not, best of the season and we’ll see you in the new year :)

Gigs in November and December

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

This week we confirmed two gigs coming up.

The first is in support of Centipede – they’re launching their new single at the Hopetoun on Thursday 22 Nov. (You can check out a snippet of the single here). We’re stoked to be playing the Hoey again – especially on a Thursday night – so we hope y’all can come and join us and make it a big night for Centipede.

The other show is Friday 7 Dec at Bandwagon, a cool new venue that recently opened up to live bands on Fridays in Leichardt. We’ve heard really good things about the venue which was recently renovated – so we’re looking forward to playing there.

It’s right on Parramatta Road, so easy to get to on public transport (a lot of buses go that way). (Bandwagon is held at the Bald Faced Stag hotel.

If all goes to plan (i.e. we get the artwork and printing sorted for it) we’ll be launching the EP on the 7th. So make sure you lock the date in your diary – it will be a big party for us and we’d love to share that with you!

Acoustic show 4 Aug

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Just a quick note to say Dom and I will be playing an acoustic show at Mars Hill Cafe in Parramatta on 4 Aug. The set will be a mix of re-interpreted Fuzu songs and a couple of solo tracks from my pre-Fuzu acoustic gigs.

We’ll be joined by our friend Kris – something I’m definitely looking forward to :)

Entry is free, and you will find the cafe at 331 Church Street, Parramatta.

EP recording

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

We’ve just locked in dates in the studio to start recording. After much looking around and chatting to folks and checking out studios and doing spreadsheets, we’ve decided to go with Revolution Studios, run by Genevieve Maynard.

Genevieve will also be producer of the EP, which will bring a set of fresh ears to the material, and some good outside judgment to the process.

We’ll hit the studio in the last weekend of May, and mix the first weekend of June – so if all goes to plan, and we can sort out mastering fairly soon after that we’ll have the EP ready for release online by mid-June.

It’s all very exciting for us… I’ve forgotten how much of a buzz recording is. So after our gig tonight at the Hopetoun we’ll be getting into rehearsal mode for the recording – at this stage we’re planning 5 tracks.

Gig at the Hopetoun

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

We’ve just got word that we have a gig at the Hopetoun Hotel on 23 April.

We’re not sure on who else we’re playing with just yet, but there’ll be four bands on the night. The gig is part of the Hopetoun Incentive Program – and we’d really like to make a good impression so that hopefully we will get asked back, perhaps on a night later in the week.

To any of our friends that are reading this, if you can make this gig, we’d really appreciate it if you can make it to this one. Getting a decent number of people to the show will make a big difference in our chances of getting asked back.

We’ll post more details once we know more…

Gig at The Harp

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

We just got a last minute call to do a show next Friday night (23 Feb) at The Harp (Tempe). It’s a Friday night, so a good chance to get out for a few drinks and bands after work if you’re up for it. We’re on at 9pm, and The Famous (who we played with at the Sando a few weeks ago) are also on the bill.

Gig at the Mandarin Club

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Fuzu<br />
live at The Mandarin Club

We’ve just confirmed our next show for 8 March at the Mandarin Club (396 Pitt Street, Sydney). We’re in the middle slot at 9.45pm, playing with Orion, Rayco and Black Ridge.

Fancy a bit of Neil Young?

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Next Thursday and Friday night, Fuzu will be joining in and helping out playing a few tunes at an FBi radio fundraiser at the Hopetoun hotel, organised by nonzero records.

The night is a Neil Young tribute night, with songs from the Decade compilation album being played across the two nights. Grant and Dominik will be playing with musos from great local bands like Bluebottle Kiss, The Devoted Few, Peabody, Horse Stories, Lazy Susan, Todd Sparrow, 78 Saab, theredsunband, Skullsquadron, I Love Space, Magic Lunchbox, The Camels and more, including Sam Shinazzi, Jason Walker and Peter Fenton…

Should be a lot of fun – so come down if you’re into Neil Young, love FBi, or just simply dig Sydney music.
