Gig at The Harp

February 13th, 2007

We just got a last minute call to do a show next Friday night (23 Feb) at The Harp (Tempe). It’s a Friday night, so a good chance to get out for a few drinks and bands after work if you’re up for it. We’re on at 9pm, and The Famous (who we played with at the Sando a few weeks ago) are also on the bill.

We’ve just confirmed our next show for 8 March at the Mandarin Club (396 Pitt Street, Sydney). We’re in the middle slot at 9.45pm, playing with Orion, Rayco and Black Ridge.

Gig at the Sando

January 26th, 2007

The gig on Wednesday night at the Sando in Newtown was a lot of fun. Being only our second gig an all, it was still a bit nerve-wracking, but by about half-way through the set it was feeling pretty good.

The room is pretty small, and thanks to the early start, and a good turnout for us and The Famous (who played a great first gig – very tight, retro-80s inspired pop) the room felt pretty full. Thanks for everyone that came down.

Y’all were very attentive – which is a blessing and a curse in a sense. On the one hand it was very cool that it seemed everyone was digging the show and really listening. On the other hand, it ups the nerves level ‘coz up on stage you know that any mistakes are probably going to be spotted by someone out there…

Anyways – Charlie Brewer (who I don’t know personally, but might be a friend of one of the other guys) has posted some pics over at Flickr. (Don’t forget to tag any photos with “fuzu” so we can check ‘em out).

Thanks again for all of you that came down – it made the night a big success for us. We’re really pumped to get out there more now – hopefully we’ll have some more gigs lined up shortly.

Fancy a bit of Neil Young?

January 3rd, 2007

Next Thursday and Friday night, Fuzu will be joining in and helping out playing a few tunes at an FBi radio fundraiser at the Hopetoun hotel, organised by nonzero records.

The night is a Neil Young tribute night, with songs from the Decade compilation album being played across the two nights. Grant and Dominik will be playing with musos from great local bands like Bluebottle Kiss, The Devoted Few, Peabody, Horse Stories, Lazy Susan, Todd Sparrow, 78 Saab, theredsunband, Skullsquadron, I Love Space, Magic Lunchbox, The Camels and more, including Sam Shinazzi, Jason Walker and Peter Fenton…

Should be a lot of fun – so come down if you’re into Neil Young, love FBi, or just simply dig Sydney music.

New photos on Flickr

We’ve posted a few new photos on Flickr if you’re interested.

There were a few folks taking pics at the gig last night – if you took any of us and you’re putting them up on Flickr, just tag ‘em with "fuzu" so we can check them out…

Sando 24 Jan

Just a reminder about our next gig at the Sandringham Hotel in Newtown. We’re playing first up (at 8pm) before The Famous and VertigoNation.

Gasworks gig

December 29th, 2006

We had a great show last night, supporting The Devoted Few (thanks guys!) at Gasworks in Parramatta.

It was loads of fun, despite the first gig nerves (and extra glitchy-ness at times). I just worked out it’s been over two years since Tobes and I played a gig together. The last show was an acoustic with Glance at the Hopetoun hotel, if memory serves. That gig was also the first one that saw me take a laptop onstage – a sign of things to come? (Amy Walters took some cool photos of that gig too.)

Anyways, we’re all really pumped and looking forward to doing it again soon.

Just a quick note, until we get this into the sidebar here, that if you would like to be kept up-to-date on gigs etc., we’ve started a Yahoo! Group.

And of course we have a Myspace profile as well, which includes some demo tracks.

First gigs

November 27th, 2006

We’ve just confirmed two gigs coming up in December and January.

On 28 Dec we’re supporting The Devoted Few and Neon Knight at Gasworks in Parramatta. This will be our first ever show and we’re pretty pumped about it.

Then on 24 Jan we’re playing an early slot at the Sando in Newtown. The lineup is yet to be finalised, but we do know we’re on early, so it’ll be a good chance to catch some drinks after work.

Now that we’ve actually got some gigs to announce, we thought it would be a good idea to setup a Yahoo! Group. Sign-up if you’d like to be notified of our up-coming gigs.
